Review on Duracell MN27BPK: Watch, Electronic, and Keyless Entry Battery Pack - 12V Alkaline (4 Batteries) by Brian Crockett

Revainrating 1 out of 5

I cannot start my car when using it in the remote car starter. the voltage also drops significantly when testing under load.

I bought the batteries (October 2016) and received all four as shown in the product image. The expiry date on the batteries (packaging - bottom right) was "MAR 2019". When looking at a real battery, it mentions that it is "Made in China". I was planning to use this battery in my car remote starter. When I connected this battery to the remote starter, the remote starter's "Start Car" button still does not beep when the button on the remote is pressed. The door locks/unlocks a signal (ie the LED on the remote control lights up). That's how it was with my old battery that I replaced it with. So I tried this battery in other remote controls. and still the same result in other car remote controls. . This confirmed my remote car starter was good but the battery was dead. Then I found this video on Youtube: [.] - [How to test standard AA, AAA, D, C and 9V batteries with a multimeter]. showing how to test a battery "no load" and "load" to see how good the battery really is. In this case. "Open load" results are a good 12.24v on this new 12v battery - A27. but if you load a 100 ohm resistor then "with load" the voltage drops to 2.8V. I tested my old battery replacing this "new" battery. and the old battery drops to about 5V. Therefore, when testing a load battery, my old battery performs better than this new battery. I hope this review helps you make the right decision.
