Review on FRAM TG4967 Tough Guard Oil Filter - 15,000 Mile Change Interval, Spin-On by Samuel Bowen

I've seen it all. People have cut them open claiming to be oil filtration engineers. They complain about the cardboard end caps, the amount of pleats, etc. I've been using FRAM filters for years. I've never had a problem with the "orange jars of death". Some people swear that FRAM filters cause premature wear or engine damage. Others swear they work great, I'm one of those people. I have a 2004 Nissan Sentra with 296,000 miles on it. He hasn't used anything other than PH7317 since it was new. I change the oil according to the instructions after 3750 miles according to Nissan's "hard" schedule. The engine had a conventional semi-synthetic and now a fully synthetic engine oil with the same filter. If you change your oil with this filter before 5,000 miles, the engine will outlive the car.
