Best filter for the money

If you change the mileage at the factory, then using them will not be difficult. All complaints about "cardboard" end caps are unfounded. End caps are made of fibers and the adhesive adheres better to porous fibers than to metal. I've seen many inexpensive jobber style filters made overseas on bobistheoilguy.com that look way worse than this one. Someone on this forum put out a Hard Guard version (similar design) for over 20,000. 95% filtering at 20 µm for $3.88 is a lot. I have some cars that…

FRAM filters work for oil filters and accessories

I've seen it all. People have cut them open claiming to be oil filtration engineers. They complain about the cardboard end caps, the amount of pleats, etc. I've been using FRAM filters for years. I've never had a problem with the "orange jars of death". Some people swear that FRAM filters cause premature wear or engine damage. Others swear they work great, I'm one of those people. After 50 years, Fram Extra Guard is still a champion for the common man.

After 50 years I am amazed how the so-called experts destroy FRAM oil filters. They complain about cardboard and caps and unevenly distributed filter media. First of all, end caps are a disc of fiber. I personally don't care what the oil filter cutout looks like, I'm more concerned with how it holds together once sealed and those fiber washers and caps help create a better seal.
