I think it will be good if I use some petroleum jelly for suction.
When I first used this, the suction cup lost its seal and the whole thing fell into the water. If I didn't have a line around it, I would have lost it. I bought a similar onion product (same company I think) with green and red light. The suction cup on this one also lost its firmness but I had a line on it again so I managed to restore it. I think it will be good if I put some petroleum jelly on the suction cup. Other than that it seems well made and I think it would be great for my purpose - mounting it on a rowboat which I sometimes row at dusk.
