Each pad is coarse
Apparently the screen is defective because the 1000, 2000, 3000 and 5000 grit left very large visible scratches caused by around 400-800 grit. they grind very well and don't clog, but are utterly useless if every grain of the pad is dirty. I didn't want to pay $3 a pad for 3M, but now I've spent the money to buy a ton of coarse sanding discs with no quality control
