I bought one of these in 2012 and have used it almost every day since then. The main reason I chose this particular block was its ability to clamp a sheet of 4x8 plywood. It will clamp a sheet of plywood really securely! From a safety point of view, that helped me a lot. No one wants a blade of wood moving across them while cutting, but this has happened to me many times. I have little space and just couldn't always clamp the workpiece the way I wanted it. This jaw eliminates all of those problems. I made a plasma cutting rail system that attaches to the jaw. It's heavy, 70 pounds, so I strap it to my jaw. But it gives me a platform for smooth panel cuts. I place my plasma cutter in the carriage and it slides across the underlying sheet of metal that needs to be cut. Very nice straight lines, it's better than I could do by hand. I also bought a welding jig for it. Money was spent but I will cover that in another review. They go together beautifully and give you an extra pair of hands to hold things. The clamping system is unique and very strong. I love that you use the foot pedal to lock the clamp, it frees your hands to level the part while you use the foot pedal to lock it in place. You have to be careful with the clamping force, it literally breaks if you clamp too tight. And to release the clamp, all you have to do is flip the switch and then lightly press the pedal. I made a base for my miter saw to allow the saw to sit securely in the jawhorse. Later I plan to add extensions to the base so the extensions can support longer pieces. Jawhorse is so convenient that I find new uses for it every day. This is a tool that you will pass down to your kids as it is well built and durable. Everything about the Jaw Horse is well thought out and made out of steel that is heavy enough so you know it will last. It's not a cheap goat, but it can do a lot more than just keep your work moving. The last pretty good feature is that it folds up easily and only takes up about a square foot of garage space. This is important when you're short on space, but as small as my workspace is, I rarely let my jaw drop. It's a fantastic tool and I don't think anyone will regret buying it.
