I am washing my second order of these towels.

Cotton as I knew it as a child. They can be luxurious yet affordable. I recommend these towels to anyone who wants to start their kitchen with a winning attitude. Clean hands dry? Take fresh to work. Need to cover freshly baked bread? Don't use fresheners or fabric softeners in the dryer or in the wash and you'll find they're great for work. If my fingers were still dexterous I would work on them a bit as they are stylistically perfect. I remember my grandmother having a set like this in one of her houses, where each towel had a day of the week written in crosshatch on it. They must always have come in groups of six because I asked them about the last one on Sunday. She said Sunday was supposed to be a day off, so he wasn't there that day. From what I could see in our lives back then, the women didn't have a day off as they spent preparing us children for church. It was a job as well as preparing breakfast and preparing dishes for the meal we all prepared after the service in the church. They wash great. Better yet, roll it up so I can keep them all in a little chrome basket that I keep handy on the counter, rather than in a drawer that I have to open with wet hands. When I was 20, I learned this trick from a dear friend: keep cloth towels near my cutting and cleaning jobs. I've been looking for these for a long time. I'm giving away my old towels and I only have these. I ordered a set first to see if they matched the bill. Now I'm on my second serving of six, so I have a dozen left in my basket. So I can always have something clean. Thanks Aunt Em. I love her!
