For me this is the perfect fit. I get up before the rest of the family and make MY cup or two of coffee. The kettle is light but not flimsy. I didn't think I would need a thermometer - I started relying on it. Reaches temperature fairly quickly. I have a small diameter gas torch that heats it up and the handle stays at room temperature. Our water is filtered and I didn't have to clean it except when I got it. It was easy enough to clean with one of those foam brushes. I let the teapot air dry when I use it. Water collects in some places, which I wipe off with a towel. Inside and outside everything is in original condition, there are no traces of rust. Holds about 4 cups of water, mine is 2 cups of coffee. Tried to get around this with a regular kettle - water everywhere. I THINK THIS KETTLE IS PERFECT!
