First dry bulb instrument; The solution evaporated leaving crystals. I wrote about the replacement and specifically asked to check the meter. get a replacement. However, the beaker was dry with crystalline residue and glass splinters when the flask broke. Apparently my request to ensure that the storage solution protects the spare lamp was not complied with. My guess is that any returns request notes are not shared with the people assembling and packing. I wrote again for a replacement with a similar note. Either an error on my part or Revane's error resulted in the credit being issued but the replacement not being sent. When I realized that no other device was on the way, I placed an order. This unit was made with very little solution along with crystalline material. Rather than returning this device as well, in my frustration and distress I decided to take a chance and make sure it works. I poured the storage solution into a cup after clearing it of crystals and let the device sit through the end of the day and overnight. , five days a week. For me it is accurate and fast when measuring pH from 2.9 to 10.9 (I have an expensive meter in the lab to check). Calibration (4.0, 7.0, and 10.0) is performed weekly, although it is unlikely that this frequency is required. Calibration is very easy and only takes a few minutes. The pH is adjusted to the temperature; an important feature when measuring liquids with different temperatures, like I do. The device is rinsed with clean tap water, and the bulb is closed with a lid filled with a solution immediately after each use. It is held upright for fear of accidentally leaking the cup.
