I bought this automatic hole punch to replace one I bought at my local hardware store over 40 years ago and have since lost. They were both made by General Tools, but that's where the similarities end! With the old kick, adjusting the stroke actually changed the force required to activate the kick from very light to very heavy. On the new punch, the adjustment knob has very little effect and requires a lot of force to activate the punch even in the lightest position. Another difference is that the old stamp was made in the USA and the new one was made in China - need I say more?
