I was disappointed. I had two problems. The image of the subject required 1) very precise focusing and 2) wasn't as sharp as expected. These ED 1042s don't have much depth of field compared to my other binoculars - Nikon, Tasco, Busnell, Celestron and Zhumel. The final image sharpness was not as sharp as my Monarch 5 binoculars. I understand that they (ED 1042) are more economical than the Monarch 5 and we are not comparing them as equals. For all other issues ED 1042 was fine. I returned the pair for a refund and had no problems.
