I'm not sure even a techie can figure out how to make it work the way I want it to. It is very difficult to program and the manual is over 30 pages long. And you need to download and print it - it is NOT included with the GPS as it should be. It says all the features will work without a smartphone, but there are still a few apps to download and get working. The screen shows the distance to the next turn but not the distance to the destination. The displayed speed is 2 mph faster than what my car says (Tomtom and my car are the same). I tried two routes I knew, both the fastest and the shortest (not the same either). GPS misrepresented both. In fact, both were slower and longer. I had to download updates (brochures said the device was updated to the latest version - wrong! It took over 3 hours using high speed internet. (Tomtom takes about 1/2 hour). When trying to use voice recognition, Didn't know the letter J as part I've been using tomtom devices for over a decade I thought I'd give Garmin a try I don't see any earthly reason why anyone would even consider using this piece of junk There wasn't a Revain, which paved the Garmin box, the way it slipped into your box I'm surprised it didn't get damaged
