All weekend I had training dives at the Blue Hole in Santa Rosa. The water temperature is 61 all year round and I wasn't expecting to dive in cold water. I definitely prefer tropical waters. The dive center I trained at provided a 7mm wetsuit but I'm glad I bought it before I left. I used a hot nail to add holes in the top of the hood for ventilation and at the ears to relieve pressure, but like most hoods you still have to run water into the hood to align it. I may never use the hood again, but in the 9 dives I've used it has more than paid for itself.
