Who designed this thing?

Let me start by saying that I ride a lot in the mountains and on the road. I ride for pleasure and for commuting. Also, let me say that I live in the Sonoran Desert and it's hot out here. Over the years I've increased my mileage to the point where I've decided to purchase a step saddle. I bought a Selle Royal Respiro Athletic. When I first hop on my bike it's very nice, but after about 10 miles you start to feel some harshness from the saddle and it gradually gets worse as the ride gets longer. For the rest of my life, I had a hard time understanding what the heck was causing that sharp edge feeling between my legs. I eventually realized that the Selle Royal has a screen inside the cutout with a hard plastic molding holding it in place. Under the screen is a strong rigid plastic ventilation system. So. You have this big piece of plastic vent right in the middle of your neckline. That peak and the venting system underneath is for that saddle's useless "Blow" system. The padding inside the seat settles as you ride, allowing the plastic inside the cutout to come in direct contact with the crotch. In short, it feels like riding the seatpost rails once you've racked up 25 miles. It's terrible. Now this saddle just sits on my bench at home. I don't know what to do with this useless saddle. Who could design such a saddle? Now for the "Air Flow" system they boast about. Totally useless. Again, who designed this? Is there really a metal shield in the cutout? Just like your screen door in your home. Now you know why you don't see the cropped image. What's wrong with just making a snippet? The air intake at the front of the saddle is reminiscent of the saddle's large round nose. Not comfortable. I will say it again. Who designed this thing? If this saddle didn't have a blower system, it would most likely be a very comfortable saddle. It looks like someone tried to reverse engineer this saddle. Bottom line: Make the nose smaller, ditch the entire airflow system, and ditch the hard plastic molding that holds the screens in place, and you'll likely have an inexpensive production saddle and a long ride. comfortable saddle for the masses. I really like the first 8-10 miles on this saddle. I'd be willing to bet I could go 30-50 miles on this saddle if they kept the cutout and got rid of the gimmicks. I think this would be a very good saddle if the airflow system was turned off. Sad.
