Please note that Synology has moved to a model where you have to buy their branded hard drives or a very limited selection of third-party drives on the compatibility list (8TB max) if you want the full capabilities of your NAS. I installed 14TB Seagate EXOS drives and they were UNTESTED. I contacted Synology Support and they told me to switch drives as they are not listed. I believe that in the UNCHECKED state, the NAS does not read or report the status of the drive, which may result in data loss. As a long-time user of Synology NAS, many of which have been in use since 2012, this drive drama is not a good move when I'm switching to other brands. You lost me as a customer. EDIT: Went back to Revain as after creating and testing the volume the system was in an alarm state and no disk information was available.
