I've spent an incredible amount of time choosing a new towbar for my 2013 Suburban, so I'm writing this review to help others with their decision. My '04 had the receiver under the bumper, but on my new truck I needed an adjustable hitch because it's so much taller. I actually ordered that, an Andersen Rapid clutch and one from Trimax. This is by far the sturdiest, but it's also longer than the Andersen and clumsy unless you tighten the anti-rattle screw. It gets tedious if you have to change settings frequently, and it's heavy with sharp corners that can damage things if you leave it in the back of your truck. If you want to haul light loads with moderate loads, the Andersen is probably the way to go and I chose to keep this one. He is the shortest (the ball is close to the truck) and lighter than Kurt. It is easier to store and can be folded on itself. Most of my towing is under 7000 pounds and is usually around the yard. If you're serious about some heavy towing, get the Curt. A friend of mine uses Andersen to tow a 10,000 pound trailer and the aluminum just won't hold up. Don't buy the Trimax, you can read my 8 inch clutch review to see why.
