Built for tough conditions

Awesome, reliable, adjustable hitch, well beyond what most ordinary people will ever need. He took off a star because the "anti-rattle" system twitches (it's a sad rubber stopper). However, don't let that deter you from purchasing. It has two receiver holes for length adjustment. 9 holes for the position and 6" below, 5" above. The top ball is valued at 14,000 and the small ball at 10,000. I tow a car transporter and this thing does the job it was bought for. So. If you need a towbar, this isโ€ฆ

Powerful and durable, but not suitable.

I hate calling a product based on something that just seems like a problem for my truck but this hitch is too long and doesn't allow the holes in the receiver to line up . It's like the hitch is about 1/2 inch longer, the hole is visible but it's just barley. I have a 2003 Excursion and have had no problems with other issues including the Curt 45901. I will be sticking with the 45900 to see if there is anything I can do to make it work like shaving off the back so it shoots enough to fit . Iโ€ฆ

I think I made a bad quality control tag. . .

. . . Some reviewers say the hitch is made in the USA. Some say India. The one I received is definitely made in India and looks like a cheap metal pot. The one-piece receiver has a 1/8" deep, 4" long recess (casting defect) under the two clutch pin holes. Doesn't inspire much confidence. An angled gusset on the "teardrop" portion of the U-profile (shorter) is welded 1/4" off-center to the one-piece cast receiver. "Anti-bounce" is a rubber plug, not a bolt. Good luck with the durability Theโ€ฆ

Worth every penny. on hitches

I purchased a Curt hitch for my Duramax earlier this year and you couldn't beat the price, quality or fit and finish. It was the same with this ball mount. Kurt seems to do some super powerful things for money. My kit did not include a rattle adjustment screw as some have mentioned in their reviews. Instead, it came with a rubber button inserted into threaded holes, so you can still go to the hardware store and buy a 1/2-13 screw if the rubber ever fails, but the rubber seems durable. Inโ€ฆ

Great clutch but needs a special lock.

I am very pleased with the finish and quality of this clutch. It's just what the doctor ordered to improve the towing performance of my various trailers and far exceeds anything I can legally tow my pickup truck. My only complaint is that the neck on the adjustment rod is so wide that the regular 2" receiver pin doesn't fit in the span, so my locking pins don't fit. I had to order a custom kit for a wider receiver to get this setup to work for me. I'm doing a cross country drive with a trailerโ€ฆ

Durable Best exterior accessories

Durable This thing! I buy this hitch because I've often towed very close to the max with my other stock Reese 7k hitch that you can buy anywhere. As soon as you open the box, you'll realize that this thing weighs three times the weight of a regular hitch, but it's not too difficult to maneuver or anything like that. Personally I appreciate it, it's silly if your rig falls off when you're towing something. Something I didn't really expect before raising my truck a bit was that it liked toโ€ฆ

I've spent an incredible amount of time choosing a new towbar for my 2013 Suburban, so I'm writing this review to help others with their decision. My '04 had the receiver under the bumper, but on my new truck I needed an adjustable hitch because it's so much taller. I actually ordered that, an Andersen Rapid clutch and one from Trimax. This is by far the sturdiest, but it's also longer than the Andersen and clumsy unless you tighten the anti-rattle screw. It gets tedious if you have to changeโ€ฆ

I was immediately disappointed when I opened the box and noticed the fit and finish of the dual head ball joint. Obviously this is a poorly cast solid block of metal that is then ground to finish. Unfortunately, the casting is too small in some places, which makes it difficult to finish when converting to ball heads. This is especially noticeable with the 2 5/16 inch bullet where the bullet shank has an odd and uneven finish. Very disappointing with a hundred plus dollar hitch. Aside from myโ€ฆ

Bruh, even if you're generous with where you measure, it's not six inches.

Kurt, no matter how many times you try to convince us that 5-1/4" is 6", we know the difference. You may have convinced your soulmate, but I have a ruler. This is a common problem with your products. You say waste is a thing and you even include a chart showing how you measure, but when the product comes out it's shorter. The actual drop of this thing compared to a standard hitch is less than 5 inches; If you're very generous in measuring, by manipulating the ruler to measure incredibly farโ€ฆ
