Effective product!

I have fully wired my new Uniden R7 radar detector in my daily driver (add a circuit device connected to a switchable fuse, power + chassis ground + Uniden wiring kit with mute button, all fished through dash and body panels ). This project required about $50 for additional wiring and significant disassembly of the car to route the wiring etc. This job took about 2 hours and was not for the faint hearted. I was planning to use the detector in my wife's long haul car (she has a better/newer car) and with this piece of wiring the installation was complete in 15 minutes! I removed the disguise where the rearview mirror meets the glass, found a connector underneath it with a matching set of red/brown wires, inserted small spatulas into the back of the connector and whoops! I had 12V power! It wasn't a switchable power supply (I found it was a constant circuit), but it's only for road trips and my metal detector has a "battery saver" setting (60 minutes without GPS movement and it turns off automatically), so I switched it on and called it good! I used the 2 cable ties provided to secure the new wiring to the existing harness for security, added some tape for extra security and covered the 2 unused spade lugs with the plastic caps provided (to prevent shorts). I closed the lid of the car and you're done! I've hooked up a couple of aftermarket radios, a couple of CB radios, and countless 12v power supplies for radar detectors, cell phone chargers, cameras, and GPS units. It was MUCH the easiest wiring setup I've ever done. If you have a 12V power supply with a plug near where you want to mount the detector, this is an easy way to power it that is 100% removable and doesn't need to be plugged in. does not require cutting the factory wiring harness. Great solution! It is an easy way to connect power that is 100% detachable and no need to plug in. does not require cutting the factory wiring harness. Great solution!
