Review on Enhance Vehicle Performance with GM Genuine πŸš— Parts 217-437 Fuel Injection Idle Air Control Valve by Josh Dyer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Much better than the first one I bought elsewhere.

I tried one of the $12 from this big auction site and what a mistake it was. In fact, 3 of the 5 pieces I bought new on this site either didn't fit or were defective. I have a 1990 Chevy K2500 with a 350 EFI engine and it suits me perfectly. However, another reviewer explained that you need to follow the instructions carefully and make sure you set the butt length correctly. I can't do anything with what I received because there were no instructions. My car book says it shouldn't be longer than 1-1/8 inch. See my photo and you can shorten it by pressing down firmly on the plunger with your thumb and gently rocking it back and forth. I also let the car warm up for about 5 minutes. You can use a 32mm socket and tighten to 13 ft.lb (corrected from the 35 ft.lb in the original review which was a copy and paste error, not what I actually screwed up until the first one is for broke me off completely where the threads meet the base of the valve.see pic.and then it was a hassle to get it out.You may have to drive around a bit for your ECM to recognize that there is a new valve in it and make an adjustment The Revain department store had one for about $28 so it was a pretty good deal and that may be why there were no instructions I have yet to purchase a part from Revain that doesn't fit or work properly although the Price is often a bit higher, the convenient car work until the arrival of the details is pretty good.
