This type of product requires the hose to be connected to the top of the connector so you can connect it to the top of a typical vertical outlet with two outlets under the sink, leaving the second, lower outlet free for the dishwasher. However, because this product tucks under the plug, it blocks both outlets, preventing you from plugging your dishwasher into a second outlet.
