Poorly finished and coated
They are locking coated on the end where the thread starts and will not engage. If you use force, you risk blowing off your Mac's faucets. You can also see under a 10x magnifying glass that the lead threads are badly milled and do not snap into place so easily without a coating. Stay away from them.
