Love the sound and the improved throttle response

I bought this inlet to my air can with a huge slot. I didn't want to replace it with an OEM so this could happen again in the future. I like the sound and the improved throttle response. But Chevy Sonic enthusiasts have told me that you have to tune to run this intake because it will "slim" the car.
