Review on Motorcraft FD 4616 Fuel Filter by Richard Lamptey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

OEM and the right parts for your Ford truck! A simple DIY project.

This is a Motorcraft OEM part at a fraction of the dealer price! Don't give up Ford filter brands; just too many problems. Buy these originals for a little more than the fakes, but at half the retailer's price, and you get the best of both worlds. It's easy to change them. However, 19 nM is not the same as 19 yes. nM. The plastic cap on top of the motor housing says to be tightened to 19Nm, so I used my 1/2" torque wrench, turned it and tightened to 19Nm. Newton meters.) = x 10. So that's 14 feet -lbs of torque should have been tightened (which is correct btw) was tightened to 140 ft-lbs well it's on but I don't think it's coming off LOL The rail filter uses the same 36mm wrench as the oil filter cap Some say 35mm is also suitable; couldn't tell. I didn't have either and had to use something "close enough". It would make sense if they used the same wrench as the oil filter housing for tool-friendliness. How anyway there are lots of great videos on youtube on how to swap them out and I feel stupid paying a dealer for 5 years to do 4-5 times more than these parts for me.
