I ordered this kit primarily for the magnetic oil dipstick but found the drain tube to be really great for draining the oil. I bought a new Honda EU2200i, installed a magnetic dipstick and started breaking in the alternator. I know the instructions don't say anything about a specific break in the process, but other small motors have them. I ran the generator for 1 hour and checked the oil. The magnet was filled with small metal shavings (sorry I didn't think to take a picture). I cleaned the magnet and then ran another hour before checking again. At my second check I could not find any significant accumulation. I then ran the generator for another 3 hours (total or 5). I would change the load on the generator with an 1800 watt heater to run it at different speeds. I only let the heater run at the maximum level of 1 or 900 watts to break in. After 5 hours of oil changes I am now confident that my new alternator is ready to go. When changing the oil it was very easy to drain it straight into the used oil container without using another funnel thanks to the drain hose and then it was very easy to add new oil. The quality of both parts is excellent!
