Review on Damascus Needlepoint Inches Tapestry European by Denise Davis

Good basic sewing

This was my starting pattern. I have made many other needles and fibers. I am satisfied with this work. It was well packed. The canvas was printed well and cleanly. The instructions suggested half cross stitch - IMO that wouldn't get very good coverage. I used basket stitch for a tent where I could and continental stitch for a tent where I couldn't. There was enough thread for this and more and I really appreciate that they were generous with the thread. It's acrylic, don't expect wool or silk, but I think it's better for cushions. Love that they have matching pillows with zips - I bought one but haven't sewn it on yet. I find, he did his job well. If I only had this one I would give it a 5. I ordered a second pillow - the Baghdadi version in green - as I wanted to make one in their colors for every adult in my family. Other than that, it doesn't let me see. On this canvas the print is offset, it's at an angle on the canvas - if you go left to right the line has gone up one row. So I really can't use this as a printed craft item. What I had to do was rip something out, adjust the bottom left to be most accurate, start from there, and then I have to follow the pattern and do that as a needlepoint count for the rest - which leads me to the Wishing canvas was just blank instead, it's frustrating to sew in places that are not what they should be. But it is a printed canvas. Hand-painted canvases are much more accurate, but also much more expensive. So I will keep sewing.
