Review on High Performance Front Brake Pads: Power Stop Z23-1405 Z23 Evolution Sport by David Cook

I am an experienced street racer with extensive track experience on a modified Mustang Cobra, C6 Z06 and 2016 Dodge Challenger Hellcat. The Hellcat's OEM pads were the worst when it came to brake dust. I was a bit reluctant to change pads due to the excellent grip and stopping power of the stock pads on the excellent Brembo brakes. One of the Hellcat's best attributes is its 60 to 0 stopping distance at 104 feet. Eventually I got fed up with the dust issue and decided to try them on the front first to see how they bite. I knew from the forum that the dust problem would go away with the power stop pads, I had to make sure stopping power was not compromised. I can say with confidence that after installing the Z23 pads the braking performance is as good as with the stock pads and the brake dust has been reduced by about 80-90%. I highly recommend these pads. However, if you plan on running hard on the trail or extra hard on the road, choose the Z26 pads. They may (not necessarily) make a little more noise, but they run cooler than Z23 pads. The composition of the pads is the same, only the pads have changed from Z23 to Z26. The Z23 has a softer pad, while the Z26 has stainless steel pads that dissipate heat faster. Also, installing these pads is easy enough for my wife to do and she actually asked for help installing the rear pads when they arrive tomorrow. They are easy to install.
