Review on Pet GPS Tracker - PETFON: Real-Time Tracking Collar Device for Dogs and Pets with No Monthly Fee - Activity Monitor (Exclusively for Dogs) by Scott Rao

Communication with the collar is questionable UPDATE: DOES NOT TAKE A CHARGE IN A MONTH

In general I like the Petfon2 tracker. It doesn't require a cellular connection like some others. It's only GPS. This means there are no monthly fees. This works very well for generally tracking where my dog is in my territory. I wouldn't say it has pinpoint accuracy, but it's good enough for my purposes. However, the way it connects to the dog's collar is terrible. The first time I used it, my dog ripped it off with his paw and chewed through the tracker, which was now on the floor. So now I tape it to their collars, which is far from ideal considering it has to be charged every day. Without the collar connection I would have given 4.5 stars. UPDATE: After a month of use, the tracker will not charge. It appears to start charging (blue LED flashing) and then stop (red LED on). Now it belongs in the garbage category. That's very bad because I really wanted to like it and it worked out pretty well. Sticking it to the collar every time was getting really old, but it was a workaround for the crappy retainer that comes with it. I can't tell you how bad it is. I'm very mechanically inclined and the holder doesn't hold the tracker in place no matter what you do.
