Review on GAR Monster Starter Kit for Arduino Uno Mega Nano with ESP32 + 25 Sensor Modules + Bluetooth WiFi Ethernet Wireless: Perfect for Electronics STEM & Robotics Projects by Steve Cypert

Revainrating 5 out of 5

If I had gotten that as a kid, I wouldn't have wasted my 20 years.

I learned to program 7 years ago at the age of 29 and wrote software professionally for 6 months. I wanted to use my skills to build physical things, so I bought a Raspberry Pi a while back. I actually didn't use it that much because I didn't have a lot of components/sensors etc and didn't have much time to buy them individually. When I decided to jump into Arduino I didn't want to repeat the same mistake. Instead of going cheap and just buying an Arduino Uno I went with this kit. Very glad I did! There are so many cool things in there that I may never get to use them all. I started playing around with some LEDs. Then I had the idea to develop something that would allow me to use Google Assistant to add contacts to my Angular/.NET Core contacts app. When a contact is successfully added (HTTP 400) the green LED is on and when it fails the red LED is on. I went through the parts list and it actually comes with TWO different wifi modules. I ended up using the ESP8266. The bottom line is that if you buy this kit and have a random idea to build something, there's a good chance you won't need to order anything else to build it. If you have a child, give this to them now! Programming saved my life and I only wish I had started 15 years earlier.
