VANTRUE model S2 install position on windshield of Honda Civic

I recently purchased a low-miles 2019 Honda Civic Sport from a local dealership, so I have to protect my investment with a good VANTRUE dash camera! I decided to get the VANTRUE S2 dash cam because this model has wireless and easy touch-screen features.I strongly believe in the importance of a good dashboard camera, as I've twice been the beneficiary to identify both a tire-slasher and a hit-and-run driver with the dash cam on my 2000 Accord Coupe. The last event, the driver's young passenger got out to inspect the damage on his friend's dad's truck. Who cares about the $3,100 damage to the rear corner panel and door of my poor car, right?! .Then BAM! .The VANTRUE T2 dash cam mounted to the mirror of my old Accord captured a perfectly-clear view of the passenger's mug! The next day, I showed the video to the apartment manager who easily identified the man as the youngest brother of a tenant who lives in the apartment building kitty-corner to my building .and then, the Police took things from there. After a few days, I had a Report to email over to the insurance provider for the young hit-and-run driver's father. Do you think Daddy was royally pissed ?FYI -- See the attached video from my apartment window security camera and pic of the damage to my 2000 Accord .and yeah, I purposely parked over the line cuz my "don't-know-how-to-park neighbor" kept banging their car doors against the passenger side of my car .So damn! .KARMA is a bitch, ain't it?! (I will not attach the video of the young man, captured by the dash cam in my old Accord -- to protect his identity.)Anyways, the obvious message here is that a good dash camera in your car can be invaluable, whether in "Park" mode or on a fun road trip. I can attest to the utility of VANTRUE dash cameras. So back to the VANTRUE S2 install on my 2019 Civic .Please see the two pictures of the model S2 camera mounted to my windshield. The installation manual recommends positioning the camera near the top of the windshield, behind the rear view mirror, to minimize obstruction of the driver's view. The model S2 also has a camera that monitors the inside cabin area, which I believe the recommended position creates a partial obstruction for viewing the maximum area of the cabin, including the back and side windows. Thus, the two pictures show my chosen camera position -- about 2 inches below the bottom edge of the large road-sensing module at the top-center of the Civic's front window. Although this mounting position is farther down, closer to the center of the windshield, it provides a more comprehensive and inclusive view for the inside-cabin camera. From the driver's perspective, while seated in a typical position, my view of the selected camera-mounting area is mostly blocked by the rear view mirror, thus my driver's-view of the road is effectively not sacrificed. Please note that this is only the first stage of installation, as I have not yet installed the VANTRUE S2 rear camera or the optional Hardwire Kit -- needed for the all-important PARK mode, am I right? .LOL ;-)
