The drill bit itself cuts easily and is well made, but the bearing binds after a few minutes. Unfortunately it was not possible to check before using. Of course I encountered white oak, but I made shallow passes (less than 1/4 inch) and cleared them between passes. And no, the drill was not inserted too deep into the collet. I used a much smaller drill from a much less reputable manufacturer on the same project and it worked very well. Although much more time consuming. I have some Freud bits/blades.
