Pros and Cons Best in Canister Vacuum Cleaner

I've been cleaning for 10 years. I have always used a Kenmore canister vacuum. At the time and for the price, vacuuming all day, every day, five days a week, it was the best you could get. I stopped cleaning 13 years ago. New life and I'm still buying a Kenmore vacuum for my house. We bought a beach cottage 2.5 years ago that was furnished and came with a Miele vacuum cleaner. I found it incredible! I liked the canister wheels and how light they are. We chose it a year ago because it has a foot switch to control suction power. What was left of ours had a dial to turn, so I kept bending down to change it to make lots of little rugs. I already have many square feet of vacuuming and mopping and thought this step might save my back a bit. I bought this device because it suits our needs and it's canary yellow. There is a lot of yellow in the decor of the house. They sent me an ugly curry color. I mistakenly assumed that I was just looking at the pictures wrong and living with them. Then a few months later I looked back on my purchase and realized no, I ordered a beautiful canary yellow and they sent me an ugly curry color. Does the color affect the quality of the cleaning? Of course not, which is why I never tried to return it. As far as cleaning goes, I don't like that the Beatalka bends down and almost stands still on some not all carpets, even thin ones. Now I have to reduce the suction power, otherwise the carpet will be pulled into the impact grate and the whole thing will get stuck. It can't be that all the dirt and sand is lifted by vacuuming alone. This is the only place where Kenmore has that beat. It has a whisk with electricity that keeps it going. Maybe the most expensive Miele model has an electric beater? This Miele frother is powered solely by air intake. As the air is compressed by the carpet, the brush will slow and eventually stop. It's a little extra work and effort to make my little rugs. Most of the time I have to push the device forward while standing on a piece of carpet, lift it off the carpet and start again on the other side. It doesn't get pulled back and forth. It works great on my very thick wool rugs as they have a mostly flat surface and even the suction height is not enough to lift them. Everything else in it works great. My last Kenmore has a retractable handle so I was very happy that Miele had that feature too. This protects your back completely, because you have a greater range and less time for vacuuming. I also like how far the knob rotates in the head to get deep under furniture. It's also much lighter than the Kenmore, but again the Kenmore's head is electrically powered and because it has a motor it's heavier. I would definitely recommend this but be aware that you may have problems with some of your rugs.
