Review on Chamberlain RJO20 Black - Wall Mounted myQ Controlled Smart Garage Door Opener: Ultra Quiet, Space Saving Direct Drive by Lild Zimmerly

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The WLAN module is included in the RJ070 light. Another hub is not needed

Good gadget. It's very quiet, fairly fast, and if you follow the instructions carefully, it's very safe and reliable. The hub turns on somewhere in the light or an opener, so all it needs to connect to the internet is a good WIFI signal from your router. It took two and a half days to completely remove the old garage door opener and balance the door (not for the faint of heart, if you don't have the exact tools and knowledge, consult a professional). Then I installed a 20mm can with a GFI amplifier and this RJ070 socket. 15 amps would have been enough, but the switch needed that. The reason this opener has a battery (unlike the RJO20) is because here in California the power goes out when everything starts to burn. If you need to get out of the house quickly and can't raise the garage door, this thing will do it for you. Enjoy. Installation was pretty easy thanks to the huge fold out installation sheets in English, French and Spanish. For fans of such things, there is also a guide that gives a few more details. Before you buy, watch some videos about the opener on YouTube, pay attention to the measurements of the position and depth of the jack (the thing that rotates to raise and lower the door. These minimum dimensions are not options. Only downside : the black plastic door on the garage door opener is surprisingly flimsy and a silly design flaw. I'm amazed I didn't break it several times during installation. Think cheap toys that break on Christmas morning with your kid sitting on it. Also the unit is heavy and weighs 37 pounds so if you are weak seek help before pulling it up.Your ladder will look like a bowl of spaghetti hanging by your garage door.
