I didn't go through the whole rivet installation and instead put pins in mine to install them. It was a quick, easy and sturdy solution as opposed to overkill of those rivets. However, the first couple of days I had them installed, it rained and when I got home, some of the paper/film covering was off. Didn't take long after that for the rust to make its appearance. Because they're so cheap, I decided to address the issue myself with some rust remover and plasti-dip. Once cleaned and dipped, I haven't had any issues.
