they wear out very quickly
I tried using them to prepare the surface of an aluminum pontoon that was dirty below the waterline. freshwater algae. On a 4 1/2" angle grinder the pads wore out very quickly. So I cut out some 3M Scotchbrite acidifying pads and used one of the worn petal discs as a backing. At least 4 times longer life from a 3M product, even with a carelessly rigged installation .
