The hardest part of the installation was removing the old plastic latches. I ended up taking an angle grinder back with the old ones because there was no way to keep the head from turning while I removed the nut from the underside. Once the plastic had melted, I pulled it out and was able to put pliers on the smooth head. They do have plastic, which worries me, but assuming they're interchangeable and people pay attention when closing the latches, you should be fine. You also get rid of the hood cover that has been there since I bought the jeep.
