Read the size carefully

Great gift for a child aged 6-8 (small size). It's everything a beginner needs, and the light motivates you to keep trying and learning. These are really well made skates! I like that they grow with the child. But I don't like the confusing title of the listing. It sounds like a pair of these skates would go from a kid's size 12 to an adult's size 10. no Read the dimensions. Know that C stands for child size (0-13). Y stands for youth. Normally children change to youth sizes at the age of 6-8 years. Youth sizes are the same as men's (7 for a young man is roughly the size of 7 for a man). And then men's shoe sizes are about 1.5-2 sizes smaller than women's shoe sizes (so the 8th size for a young man corresponds to the 8th for a man, and for a woman - 6-6.5). I think the shoe industry did all this on purpose to confuse us. Look at the list of sizes and pay more attention to the first numbers. Small fit from 12C (child) to 1.5 years (youth). I found it true to size. This is the perfect gift for an average 5-7 year old to give her room to grow up in and hopefully last a few years/springs. For reference, my average height 9.5 year old wears size 2. My 6.5 year old also wears size 2. So if your child is above average height, buy this size when they are 4-5 years old . You need some protective gear included in this price is amazing. This is a great set! It comes in a plain brown box - nothing to show the contents like buying a toy in a store. But in this case, it's still a very gift!
