Review on Ultimate 56HP Data Internal Modem: Unmatched Performance and Reliability by Scoony Taker

I bought this modem to replace my 5 year old US Robotics modem which still works great. Although Best Data is not a household name, I thought the v.92 modem should be much faster than my old modem. However, it is MUCH slower than my old modem. Worse still, it often stops transferring data after a few seconds after connecting. Today I put my old US Robotics modem back in and threw the Best Data modem in the trash. This Best Data modem is provided for free after a mail-in discount. Now I understand why it's free. FYI, I'm using Windows Me.
