Soft compared to what? sandpaper?

When you see "soft" yarn, you expect it to be soft. Anyway, when it arrived I thought, "Soft compared to what? sandpaper? Barbed wire?' While it's not the coarsest yarn I've worked with, it's far from the softest. Not recommended for children; too coarse. The color was true, albeit consistent. There were no breaks in the yarn, unlike others I have worked with.
