Bought a Curt trailer harness adapter for our 2012 Toyota Highlander SE to connect to our kayak trailer. After reading the reviews where others stuck to instructions, I watched the pre-arrival instructional video of the adapter where everything seemed pretty straightforward; That. Just follow the kit's instructions and you won't have any problems. They were there and it was very easy. Took me about 20 minutes from start to finish. My only concern is that a 30A fuse is required in the engine bay fuse box, but you only get 10A with the kit. Perhaps the OEM wiring harness for electric brakes on large trailers will do; This explains the need for a 30 amp fuse. However, 10 amps is enough to light most trailers. Unless you live in a dry, arid climate, I wouldn't recommend running cables through a black grommet in the floor and securing them outside the car. Store the trailer connector securely in the back of the vehicle when not in use to prevent the connectors from corroding.
