Review on Birkenstock Gizeh Disco Microfibre Boys' Shoes in Size 2.5 by Charles Barney

Possible fakes but good fakes if so

So the jury can't tell if these shoes are real. These were my first purchases in Birka. I don't normally spend $90 on sandals, but I had an Amazon gift card so I bought it instead of going to an authorized retailer. Honestly I can't tell if these are fake as I don't have the comfort/quality barometer of this item. Pros: Hardware matches close-up photos from Birkenstock website. The T-strap sits flat on my foot, contrary to some complaints I've read about fakes. I didn't notice any sloppy glue or other signs of cheap manufacturing. Cons: came in a package, not a box, no tag. The lettering on the insole was black - for the liquorice color on the official website it appears to be gold, although black lettering is standard for other colors. The verdict is unknown. I'm not sure if I messed it up or not. I'm guessing that might be the equivalent of the factory riots you saw at the outlet? If I were a Birk lover and didn't rely on a gift card to make a purchase, I'd spend the extra $10 and go to an authorized retailer.
