I really like the product but it was inaccurate right out of the box. is working. I've tried holding all 4 buttons at once, or holding 3 and then pressing the power button, but all it did was turn it on and never go into calibration mode. In addition, the laser is rather weak. Attempting to measure something remotely would be next to impossible without a tripod-mounted laser. The device is easy to use and I love the fact that it has memory. I will update my review once I get a replacement. Could suggest any solution. To update. Revain sent me a replacement. I was able to calibrate the new one with no problems and then after the batteries died for a few days the old one worked for the calibration. Find out. After calibration, both are very accurate and I decided to keep both. Upgrading my star from 2 to 4 out of the same concern that measuring long distances without a tripod mount would be an extremely difficult task.
