Size, pattern and color are as expected. The rug isn't as soft as I was hoping - the pile is a little "grittery" than I thought it would be, and it has a slightly "oily" feel - sort of like acrylic yarn you can buy at a craft store. (if it makes sense). We had to let it air out for a few days after opening - there was a strong chemical/factory smell. Disappears after a few days. The mat arrived rolled up and very securely packaged. All edges except one have turned over - we must try to flatten this edge of the rug. If you have a hardwood floor like ours, you need to buy a non-slip pad for the carpet or it will slide everywhere. We bought a 4ft diameter pad to put under this 5ft 3" mat and it works great. So the size, color and pattern of this rug are perfect for our child's nursery. The texture and quality leave a good impression. little better, but we keep it.
