Review on 🔥 Unveiling the Sleek and Stylish Riedell Dart Ombré - The Ultimate Quad Roller Speed Skate by Fort Steffen

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Comfortable and colorful skates but slippery wheels and tiny toe pad

I needed new skates as my old ones didn't fit. I've done a lot of research on different skates and these skates as well as the Riedell R3 have made several lists of the best skates I've found. I chose these skates and chose pink and purple. They are exactly like in the picture. Riedell's website describes these skates as heavily padded, which is true - the upper ankle and tongue are soft and comfortable. The outsole is lightly padded and the vinyl boot is reasonably soft and flexible, yet supportive. The toe box is difficult to protect the toes and the toe box is narrower and narrower than the rest of the boot. I usually wear size 8 women's tennis shoes because I have a wide foot and 7 1/2 never fit me. I ordered men's size 7 and so far they fit well. There is enough room to wiggle your toes a bit, but the toe box is tight. I bought them for use at an ice rink and will update after my first ride there. The only thing I don't like is the stopper. It can be adjusted, but I think it's too small and won't last long. So I'm deducting a star - Rydell seems to like those finger rests. I'll take a bigger one instead. These skates might be too heavy for a beginner, but other than that they should be good. I like that they have an aluminum plate. They were delivered three days earlier than originally thought. I can't wait to ride in them! **Update** If you're used to big toe pads, these toe pads are a change, and not for the better. I recently ordered some gumball toe braces and they are way bigger than the tiny toe braces on these skates. Also, hold on tight or be prepared to be a little shaky and not so confident while skating these skates. The boots are comfortable but it will take me some time to get used to the wheels which is normal with any new skate. I was surprised to feel every little bump in the rink's wooden floor - much more so than my old Pacer skates. It would be nice to slow down and do nothing but basic skating and no back skating until you get used to it. This is the first time I've seen her in a long time. Replace the tiny footrests that come with the kit before you skate. I will give them a little more time before changing the four star rating. The wheels take a while to warm up, and then they feel more grippy on the rink's covered wooden floor, which isn't as slippery as a gym floor. I don't feel as confident on these skates as I used to on my old skates, especially when turning and going backwards. The wheels are definitely firmer and smoother than what I want/need. They can work better with heavier skaters who get more grip from them. I had to order a few other wheels that have a softer durometer. So I had to change the footboard and wheels but love the boot itself and the color. Conclusion: I give these skates 5 stars for the look, the plate and the comfort of the boot. For smoothness, wheels and emphasis I give 1.5 stars. Overall - three stars.
