Works perfectly. Suitable for sockets and accessories

Starting with the X-10 devices, I have been using home automation since the late 1970s. (I'm not kidding.) For the past twenty years, I've lived in a factory-like house with 30-foot ceilings and two 14-foot by 10-foot interior curtains (actually large awnings) that were one story higher. They're motorized, but whenever I wanted to raise or lower them, I had to go upstairs to flip the switches. A few months ago, it occurred to me that there might finally be a cheap WiFi switch that I could try. That's when I found these switches from Lora Tap. I ordered two and got off to a rocky start. One of the switches was missing two screws, the other was broken. So I requisitioned the defective switch's screws and tested the remaining switch on a workbench before officially installing it. I was thrilled that it worked so I installed it and ordered a replacement for its non-working brother. Despite the unfavorable start, I am completely satisfied with these switches. In particular โ€ข It has an excellent build quality. I've tried several different brands of WiFi switches over the past few years - maybe even a dozen or more - and these are my favorites. I appreciate having terminal blocks to connect to existing wiring. Most Wi-Fi switches come with their own cables that must be twisted into existing cables. It can take up a lot of space in already crowded junction boxes. In addition, Lora Tap's terminal blocks are very strong and will hold wires without damaging them. โ€ข Terminal markings are very clear. There was no need to read the instructions. โ€ข The switch interface is also clearly labeled with logical symbols and the switches are quick to respond. โ€ข Most importantly, the switch works great. I've tried just having WiFi switches and bulbs. that work with SmartLife so I wasn't thrilled to add another app, but it works well and syncs properly with Google Home. However, when I use "down" and "raise" as verbs, Google Home accepts the commands, but the hues don't respond. However, the words "open" and "close" work every time. I suspect this is a third party application. All in all, I'm very glad I no longer have to run up and down stairs to open and close curtains (canopies) and be sold under the Lora Tap brand (even if that means using a different app) . Finally, I appreciate that Lora Tap didn't fill her listings with fake reviews. Some other brands make me feel like Sherlock Holmes trying to figure out which reviews are real.

Pros
  • Switch for sockets
Cons
  • Slightly dented
