Short corkscrew but good quality AF
I used to have a corkscrew that was very similar in design but without the plastic. Probably the standard cheap all-metal that everyone seems to have in their drawer. However, it has a level of strength and thickness that will keep you from getting hurt by those doggedly trying to pull the plugs. With my cheap metal my hand sometimes cuts the teeth on the levers when I try to pull and insert the entire assembly, but it doesn't happen at all with this one. I love this wine cork opener!
