Recording, storage, editing are serious problems.

I use two dozen Wyze cameras. I have Wyze sensors and scales. I am very familiar with their products. I haven't had any major problems in 2 years. However, the new outdoor camera leaves a lot to be desired. There is no SD card slot on the camera, but on the required base station. The literature states that up to 4 cameras can be connected to one base station. This would mean 4 cameras recording to one SD card. They really want you to like something that helps with stretching or massaging. For example a yoga mat or a massager for yourself or if you have an idea, a storage subscription. The plans aren't expensive, but I resent the thought that they set them up that way on purpose. The base station must be no more than 60 feet from the camera. So much for taking them to the barn. Mounting options are limited to the included hardware, but the tiny screws that have to fit the tiny mounting holes in the plastic base are a joke. If a bird hits the camera, it will most likely fall off the mount. It can fall off even if you modify the base with larger screws as the cam is held to the bracket by a magnet. It is not safe for outdoor security cameras. Theft is too easy. Do you think you know everything was stolen? think again Recording, storing, editing, wiring, these are all amazing problems with standard Wyze cameras. I placed 4 indoor v2 cameras on the patio in the Wyze outdoor enclosures, dug a small ditch, installed plastic pipe and connected a weatherproof junction box with USB hub to power. The cameras are connected to drones, some with very long USB cables, and the system works great. The effort was small, a small screed is required, but anyone can do it. The latest addition is an infrared illuminator that focuses on the camera's detection areas, allowing me to see beyond the infrared range of the cameras.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
