This adapter works like other cables. I didn't notice a darker image quality with this one, at least not in RGB or component. No noticeable lag on any of the options. In general, the picture is pretty good. The sound from the TV is fine except I can't get the soundbar to work when using this adapter via ARC HDMI. At first I thought it was a soundbar and then I factory reset the TV. Still the same problem. When it was connected there were other issues such as HDMI link functionality with other consoles that support it. Strangely, after disabling this adapter, all problems go away. I don't think this should be a problem with most setups as all TVs vary by manufacturer and I think this adapter fits what it is intended for.
