This HDMI converter works very well and is easy to set up. I like how the device can be powered from the PS2's USB port. Cable for your PS2, the picture quality is exactly the same. Therefore, reception does NOT improve picture or sound over a component cable.

Don't buy this if you're thinking about it. trust me it stinks. I tried the Hyperkin version of this product and it was just as good as the LOW quality. Very blurry and the RGB setting looked worse than the component setting. In addition, the RGB setting caused the image to flicker. There is also a noticeable input lag. I have one of the $20 component to HDMI transcoders (sold here) and when used with a good quality component cable like Sony, Monster or Psyclone they surpass it in picture…

I love this little device! I can play my PS2 collection on my Smart TV! Digital Devil Saga, Dragon Quest 8, Final Fantasy 12, Persona 3 FES - everything looks amazing! This adapter works like other cables. I didn't notice a darker image quality with this one, at least not in RGB or component. No noticeable lag on any of the options.
