Big shocks, but you need to know a few things first.

I bought these shocks to replace the shocks that came with a 4" Rough Country raise kit that my Jeep's previous owner installed. Although the difference isn't day and night, I can definitely say that the medium-sized bumps aren't as annoying as they used to be. It's by no means the same as a modern crossover SUV, but I don't feel like breaking an axle every time I hit freeway potholes. Speed. Installation was easy enough. Just remember to soak the top rear bolts in grease as if they're about to break, you're going to have bad times. THIS SAYS these shocks aren't for everyone. Your Jeep will need you to either cut the rear spring seats or push the top rear bracket out of the top hole and install the rear shocks upside down. The cylinders on these shocks are much larger. than the old shocks I had and while they don't cause any problems with my stock driveshaft they will make contact when I rotate the rear axle up for the new CV driveshaft. With that in mind, the front shock boots are good rubber and the rear shock covers are hard plastic. I'm not sure why they are, but the plastic poses a small problem if you want to mount them upside down, as the stiffness prevents the perch from getting into the space between the bracket and the cylinder. I suppose you could try buying rubber cases or just going without a case, but that's up to you. Otherwise I have no problems with shock absorbers. They're just a bit bulky and can cause problems if you have a skewed CV driveshaft on the rear axle.

  • Same as always
Cons
  • Modern
