Review on Kitchen 50015 Mandoline Elite Slicer by Juan Harrington

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Was built to last a lifetime but sadly no longer in production!

It's a pity that this mandolin is no longer manufactured. If you read online reviews from top chefs, you'll find that once they try this slicer, they never want to use another one, no matter the price. Sold by a professional knife sharpener. sharp!" A common complaint with other planes is that the blades are dull. This is precision ground German quality steel. The mandolin itself is heavy cast aluminum and very strong. Not cheap lightweight plastic! It also has a larger platform than that most mandolins, making it easier to chop large veggies. The unit is also slightly larger than most mandolins, so if you have limited work space this may not be the best choice for you. I have a feeling it is is made in USA but unfortunately made in China Slight disappointment but that in no way detracts from the quality of this slicer.

Pros
  • Grating, paring and slicing knives
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
